So pleased to have been placed third in my first ever short story competition. I won’t lie, I was a bit nervous, and very lucky to have a few supporters to keep me calm! The Fosseway Writers will be adding all the stories to their website at some point so you can have a read.
As a newbie writer it has really given me the confidence to carry on (well not that I was going to stop!) I have millions of stories in my head and loads of avenues to explore. Really exciting times. It’s my last week at the College Library before the redundancies kick in and my last day will be Friday. I will miss all the fab people but looking forward to annoying publishers and agents until one of them gives in and takes me on. My book is going to be brilliant; my mum said so, and mess with my mum at your peril lol.
I have loads to update you on but off to have a glass of fizz to celebrate. Thanks so much for all the support I have had from family and friends. I am so lucky to have such support and I hope to reward you all with a signed copy of my book one day 😉

I live in Nottinghamshire, after living in various parts of the UK, including Wakefield, York, Derby, and the Yorkshire Dales. I enjoy reading, writing (of course), travelling, socialising and my new interest is… Kayaking!
So far in my writing journey…
A Christmas Wish is my third self-published story, which came about after I’d published a Game of Souls in December 2018. I had a lovely chat with a friend of my Aunties, he asked me to write a Novella about a nice spirit. This led to me writing ‘A Christmas Wish’.
My short story, A night lost to the past, won third place in the Newark Book Festival 2018 writing competition, which was run by the Fosseway Writers group. This was well received, and many readers asked me to develop and expand the story. I completed regular instalments, which I published each week on my blog. It is now available as an eBook. In 2020 I’m planning to further develop this story into a novel, which will be set in Newark on Trent, in the present day and also in the English Civil War.
I'm currently submitting my psychological thriller to agents and publishers. I’m planning to write a series based predominately in York, Jersey, and New Zealand. Book one and two are finished, book three will be finished in 2020; hopefully!
In February 2019 I was lucky enough to travel to New Zealand. During my time there I wrote a journal about our 42-day adventure. This will be published in early 2020.
I started a blog at the very beginning of my writing journey, it tracks the ups and downs of trying to get published. I need to mention that my blog posts are usually visited by ‘Brackets’ I will let you find out about him when you read it!
